Got my spring and pin yesterday so today I will be putting them in.
The sticky describes the spring install pretty good and I assume the pin will be installed so the shaved part rides on the full power screw but that is adjustable right? Or maybe I should do one mod at a time so that if there is problems it is easier to be diagnosed. thanks in advance for any help

 

The 3200 spring is kind of scary if u dont know squat. I had a friend do mine, i help as much as i can, and even after a year of owning my 93, I dont think its still something id tackle myself. The fuel pin is very easy to do, just insert it with the deep side toward the front of the truck. Have u adjusted the starwheel or "smoke screw" yet? Its easy enough to do, but if u wanna just do it all at once it'll save time for ya. I left my star wheel bottomed, it just takes tension off the spring so it takes less boost to reach full fuel faster, I think mine was like 4 full turns to bottom. The "smoke screw" is all on your tastes. lots of smoke on take off or little? I acctually ran mine back to about stock, maybe 1/4 turn in. some guys put theres flush with the bottom of the afc cover. Thats all up to you.

Its not so bad, just a little intimidating. The shaved part of the pin goes towards the front of the truck. Might as well do them both at once, your gonna be in the same spot any way . How are your mechanical skills? The spring is very simple, but having someone who has done it already is helpful--hint hint. After you do it once you will feel like a pro!

 

I read on another tread that I may need a pump gasket set but in the sticky it looks like a reusable rubber gasket. As far as my mechanical ability I am a farmer/trucker and I seem to keep most of my stuff running but I have never been inside a fuel pump,always took that kind of stuff to the deisel shops.

 

Amazing i didnt say anything about that. A pump gasket kit is cheap insurance. Mine didnt leak, but I replaced the gasket on the pump top anyway, being as we were already there.

You should be able to do it without a new gasket. Havent heard of anyone that had to replace it.

 

just finished putting in the spring and pin and took it for a burn. What a difference! I have to turn the star wheel back a bit,it smokes too much off the start but it sure goes! Followed the sticky and it was pretty easy however now the turbo is barking so it looks like I need another upgrade. Maybe a PDR hx 35???
