3200 spring
3200 spring
I put a 3200 spring in my buddies truck tonight and he loves it. The truck is totally different now. I also moved the throttle linkage and turned the fuel pin to the deep side and removed the nylon washer. I wonder why they didnt put that spring in these trucks from the factory? It only took me a couple hours after fighting with the one allen head bolt that holds the pump top on. That thing didnt want to come out for anything I finally beat it out with a hammer and a punch. That hammer and punch trick is one I learned on here and I have used it many many times.
I bought a 3200 spring off E-bay some time ago, went to install it in my resealed IP and found that they sent me a 4200 spring. So needless to say the 3200 is on it's way, warranty.
Those are the mods I want do to old RAE as well...to start at least...once I actually get to start driving it again.

Cummins designed our engines for longevity and economy. Diesel engines running efficiently at low RPM's have a strong tendency to travel more miles and run more hours for fewer dollars. Most of those big freight train engines you see pulling millions of tons are running in the 1,000 RPM range efficiently. Of course your end results will vary....

Fweww it is kind of mind blowing when you think about it
. I think your millions of tons is far fetched though... most freight trains should be no more than 8,000 tons (150-300 tons per car). But one car one mile on one gallon of diesel aint to shabby.
The CSX feel god message is just that. What they don't tell you is the trucks shuttling the freight around the yard, trains shuffling the cars, loading cranes, idle time....

Those MTB's were unreal fast, even these days they'd be considered fast, and they were made of wood! I'd love to have one of those tied up for sure. I went to a water pumping station a month or so ago. They had 5 Fairbanks Morse engines of varying displacements. All 2-stroke horizontally opposed configurations. Basically the same engines they put in WWII submarines. Built in 2000 using 1938 technology. Seriously cool.
