Piers or Dynomite diesel (DDP) has them.

Hijack here, but can the idle screw do the same as the 3200 spring? i got the spring and gave it to my guy, he said he could do the same thing with out tearing apart the fuel pump. It didn't matter to him as he was getting paid by the hour so I feel like he would have wanted the extra work. Was he telling the truth? I know when I got my truck back, it threw me against the back of the seat.

I heard the same thing from a pump shop before. Someone correct me if i am wrong here, but I think the truck will defuel still if all they do is unscrew the throttle stop, giving more throttle travel and in theory allowing the engine to rev higher, they (pump guy) aren't thinking it thru. The 366 gov spring is the way to go.

Put in the spring, you won't be sorry. With the spring you not only get more pulling RPM but you get better throttle response all across the RPM range. Best upgrade for the money in my opinion.

Got the same story here. I ended up printing the procedures from this site and did it myself. Trust me, get it in there. You will be asking why you did not do it sooner!

And to be fair to some of the diesel shops, its not for any other reason that they don't understand the spring other than their lack of knowledge on the VE/12v engines. Everyone around here are 24v junkies........

Thanks guys. I should have asked a long time ago. I know I'll regret all the power I've not been making.

I got my pump rebuilt, and had him install a 3200rpm spring. I have no tach, but there is no defuelling up to 32mph in 2nd, 55 in 3rd, 85 in 4th. I know I am pushing the limits of my valvetrain, and I still have lots of pedal left when I chicken out. Of course, the 160mm/stroke could have something to do with it, too.

I'm sure that I have asked this but will the spring give any better fuel economy. I have 4:10s in the rear and I can't go above 65 or my mpg will go down.

Nope. It'll go alot faster, just rev higher and use even more fuel doing it. Various combinations of gearing and tire size are the only solutions for the fuel economy/rpm-ground speed equation.
