3:00 or 3:0?
Today while I was washing my engine compartment I was reading the tag under the hood and it says that my truck has a 3:00 rear end ratio. Is this a normal ratio? I thought they were somewhere around 3:07
Just wondering.

Well as for my truck it doesn't have the under hood tag anymoore, but all the other dodges I have seen and can remember (my 95' 1500, and dad's 96' 3500) say 3.5 for 3.55's and 3.9 for 3.92's, so I am just guessing here but I would assume that you have 3.08's, There should be a tag on the differential that would say for sure, or give a dealer your vin and they can print you a build sheet, that is how I found out my truck has 4.10's.

Yea 307, 410,354.1, were most comen for the diesels. 89's and 90's with the 3 speed auto had 307's they really needed that other gear. I'm not sure about the 300,s thats airplane ratio's.

Your kidding They had something lower than 3.53 in these trucks? I guess with the famous first gen. torque monsters they could handle those gears and a load too. Now you can't get a 3rd gen. with anything faster than 3.73. But at least the 4.10-11 has lasted.

I suspect the 3:07's were only available on the early trucks that had torqueflites with no overdrive. Without those gears you could probably struggle to get highway speed.

Bingo! Could be special ordered with the Getrag, though.
