2nd gen lp and custom fuel sump?

Well I've got a 2nd gen lift pump I need to put in after I get a regulator and a few other parts. I was gonna run my stock fuel lines but decided to might as well do it the right the 1st time and am gonna run 1/2" lines from the tank. I am plannin on goin with an airdog and fuel sump in the future, but I was thinkin might as well go with the fuel sump right now while i got my tank off. I can have my brother build me a fuel sump, but how do they seal them up? like the hellman sump? also my dad was sayin i should put a little drain in the sump because all the water collects at the bottom of the tank and I could open the valve to let water out if til i get an airdog setup. So should i put a drain in it? and have the hose comin out of the sump farther up so the water collects below where i'm suckin the fuel out? And then run 1/2" lines up to my 2nd gen lp. This way, it would be easy to install an airdog in the future and i'd already have most of it done, plus i wouldn't have to mess with the sending unit or a draw straw and all that. what are your thoughts???

If the air dog is like a fass the pump needs to be closer to the tank not near the engine. Keep that in mind when routing the fuel lines. The drain in the sump may not be necessary but it sure can't hurt.

Yeah i was gonna mount it on the inside of the frame when i get it. But for now I'm just gonna run it with a 2nd gen lp and regulator. Thats what i was thinkin that the drain on the bottom wouldn't hurt anything and may be nice.

It would definitely help whenever you have to drop the tank to drain it out first. Not very often but at least if you ever did...

That is true, I didn't think of that. ha ha it is much much easier to drop it when its empty then it is full, been there done that.
