the only thing i dont like about the sump is water settles to the bottom of the tank.

if your in cold weather climate i would recommend the internal pick up tube.

i have worked on big trucks all my life and they dont have the freeze up problems now like years ago when they had the fuel cross over hose and bottom of the tank pick up.

Air Dog good. i put the FASS on my 99 did the Air Dog on the 01 due to filter prices.

i never had a problems at 1/4 tank, i cut the tube at an angle and about 1/4" off the bottom. i also dont take off fast of slam on the brakes which keeps the fuel level in the tank somewhat.

i was always looking for fuel at a 1/8 though, never let it go to empty.

and yes, fuel and additives are much better than it used to be, you'd be OK at the bottom, my preference is a suction tube.

I have a Air Dog 100 on a 2001, uses the stock pick up tube. No problems cold or hot.

my 99 i bought if from Vulcan, at that time there were the first to sell one.

the 01 came with it in the Air Dog kit.

some guys pull the box, i dropped the fuel tank. drilled a hole and used the supplied grommet and a tube that slides through it.

the stock pick up modules in the tanks have a very fine screen at the bottom and a small can that resembles a in-line filter. i had that as a suspect in all my stock lift pump issues, so i went with the straw too to hopefully be done with the fuel delivery system issues for good, and it has!

when I did mine I drilled the fuel modual to accept the drawstraw, I did NOT drill the tank.

really the 150 is overkill, the 100 will support over 500hp, and the 100 connects directly to the fuel modual, without a drawstraw

i have an air dog. I do have a sump i purchased from truck source diesel here in san antonio. Of course it hardly gets cold for long down here. I will say the seem to be a little proud of it,but i like the design compared to the other sumps i have seen. It is a lot slimmer, low profile design, which i like when it is hanging underneath the truck
