Somewhere around 25-30 psi IIRC. A bit much for a VE without a regulator....

There is a piston lift pump available from cummins that puts out around 18 psi. My friend is running ddp 3's and he cant pull the fuel pressure gauge down past 7 psi at wot. He has maxed pump and no afc. Heres a link to the thread with the part numbers on it. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=93722

One thing that you should remember though if you put on the piston style pump is that if it should fail the truck will not run like like it would with diaphragm pump.

True, but the failure mode is graceful - It will eventually just get tired. If you have a fuel pressure gauge you'll notice declining pressure after about a half million miles.

People should also be aware the running the VE allowing it draw it's own fuel and filling the crankcase with fuel are two very bad ideas that happen unwittingly to people all the time running stock lift pumps. Running without a fuel pressure gauge is another bad dea that allows that to happen.

The only good thing to be said about the stock lift pump is it's easy and inexpensive to change.
