1st gen Homecoming

Anybody else headed out to this event the first weekend in June?
Robert from 1st Gen Industries is putting it on.
There will be a Cummins factory tour and a truck show for the 1st 200 1st gen trucks [ I personally checked with Robert and my '89 12V Ramcharger counts]. He is also planning Sled pulls, Dyno runs, Drag racing and a lot of hanging out and talking 1st gens....Should be fun. I am looking forward too watching some Cummins diesel truck drag racing.

Charlotte and I are headed out in our 2wd '89 Ramcharger, that I converted to a 12V 5 speed 4x4 riding on Dana 60F/70s and a W250 frame and suspension. Looks like a 18 HR drive out there for us! We are driving out and then camping out in out RC for the long weekend.
This will not be a tow out the show truck sort of trip...I like to drive my "junk". I am going to swap out the 3rd gen 17 inch rim and tire combo that has been on there for 9 years for something with fresh rubbers. Going with some 285s on some 16 inch bullet hole style aluminum rims

For those that have been going to the Carlilse Mopar car show and hanging with us...My buddy "Island Bill" should be convoying out with us in his twin turbo'ed, 20K paint jobbed, W250.

Indianapolis IN. at the Lucas oil Raceway.

Might be about the same driving time for you. Hop in the old 1st gen with the wife and make the trip out!
It is the 4th-7th of June.

I figured anyone on a computer/phone looking at this website, would just put "1st gen Homecoming" into the search engine of their choice if it sounded interesting to them.

Believe me I wish that I could, but due to some very serious compilations from having lung cancer I can no longer even ride in my first gens as they ride to rough. I know they do and have always loved them because they ride like a truck which they are but it is no longer an option. I still enjoy coming on the forum and seeing what is going on though.

Ya but I'm 71 and have led a very good life so it's not so bad. Still on the right side of the grass so far so it's all good.

After you get the new shoes on the Ramcharger send me some pics and I will post them for you, or any other pics you want posted anytime.

Hmm, this might actually be something I could swing. Only 3 hours away...

On a more somber note, glad to hear you're still hanging with us nonrev.

I've washed dad's W250 twice and gotten most of the dust & dirt off, one final cleaning and it should look pretty good. I've been starting it and driving it around the farm some regular but no trip to town yet. It needs new tires and the KDP taken care of first. I'd love to drive it to the event though! It's way more fun to drive than mine, plus it looks a lot better...

My brother has been working on his '78 RamCharger (318) some. New fuel pump etc. Slowly getting it cleaned up & roadworthy again. We haven't tackled the '72 Duster with 40,xxx miles yet...

Thursday looks like a jam packed day at the Cummins plant. I don't see an agenda for Friday-Sunday other than the Beauty Pageant. I guess the drags, dyno etc will be spread over those days?

You say youall are camping out in your RC, Oliver, is that on-site or elsewhere?

Wow, an 18 hour, one way drive is a pilgrimage man...

We are camping out at Raceview Family Campground. They list hot showers and ice for sale on the grounds. You can get primitive camping, or camping spots with power hook ups, or fancy RV camping sites.
