Very cool truck!! Definitely deserves to be restore in my opinion.

This is not the same small diesel motor that was available in the mid to late 80's in the dodge rams was it? If not then I did not know that there was a diesel motor available back in the late 70's??

Amazingly straight for an older brick body. Light duty drivetrain, but I don't think that the engine produced torque like ours do.

Love to see that short bed diesel restored.. Anyone wealthy out there who loves stinky old dodge trucks ?

With 100 hp and 163 ft/lb, that half ton drivetrain is good and safe... LOL
The small diesel in the 80's Rams was a 2.3 turbo 4 cyl found in the D50, which was a brand engineered Mitsubishi Mighty Max. The same engine was also found in Ford Ranger's.

I would totally buy that but I have no room in my small garage or the main shop. I have way to many projects going

I wonder if that is a ford diesel, the intake manifold and injection look identical to our 8n tractor. Ford made a rare H model engine when sadly.. parts are impossible to find unless you know a good machine shop.

Note: says Mitsubishi, wondering if there are some ford parts on that.

I'm sure I saw a 84-85-ish dodge ram...not a D50, but a D150...on E-bay once with a factory 4 cylinder diesel. And I'm pretty sure that was an optional engine for a year or two.

Going to have to do some digging.

I think that the price was fair, but this is about the worst time of year to try to sell a vehicle. Everyone is spending or saving for Christmas. In the Phoenix area the best time to sell any type of classic or collectible vehicle is Feb., because there are about 10 major car auctions here in Scottsdale. The whole world is here or their eyes are here. Last year in Nov,. I tried to sell my 66 Porsche 912 and would have taken 10k for it. I didn't get 1 bite on it. I tried again in Feb, and got 14k for it from a guy in London. He flew over to pay me and get the car shipped over. The price went up 2k in the last half hour of the auction. I am also willing to go a long distance to get something I want. A few years ago, I bought an old boat on Ebay for 300 bucks and drove all the way to Nashville to get it. It had the exact same outboard as my Mexico boat, which was why I did it. It was also a great excuse for a road trip ...Mark

IH used a Nissan SD33 motor in the scout.

Same motor as the maxima of that era.

Also used in a lot of boats.

I had hydroboost brakes with full 4 wheel anti-lock system on an Astro van. Had to use them to the limit one day when a dizzy broad stopped in the left lane of 70 mph traffic with her right turn signal on.

It made a tremendous amount of tire smoke, and steered around her with my foot up against the rocker cover like it was on rails.
