1st gen 2wd vs. 4wd steering box

I was told several years ago that the steering box used was the same for the 2wd and 4wd trucks, except for the pitman arm.

Is that true?

Is the pitman arm the same except installed rotated 90degrees?

My truck expertise is really with older Fords

The pitman arms are not the same. The hole for the draglink in a different size.

1st gen '72 - 77 2wd have standard rotation, and 4wd have reverse rotation boxes.
