1st gen or 2nd gen intercooler

I have both the stock '92 intercooler and one from a second generation. I have all the piping and clamps and boots for the first gen. My question is: Would there be any advantage to the 2nd over the 1st? I plan pump tweeks, injectors and turbo upgrade. Anybodies $.02 would help. Thanks.

I went from a leaky 1stGen to a non-leaky 2ndGen and dropped 300 deg EGT across the board. EGTs are creeping back up now, but I think I also have some injector issues to tend with.

The install isnt that hard- I think I have 2 afternoons in it, and that included seeing that I didnt have the grinder I needed and having to wait til I got one.

Has anyone tried to put a BD, Banks, etc. for a PS in? Are they just too big?

i think part of the appeal for us 1stGenners of the stock PSD, 2ndGen, etc, is that they are normally take-outs that got replaced with the Banks, BD, etc units, and people want them out of the way, so you can get them for $50. Cheaper than any new coolers for sure.
