1993 idle problems

I need some help! I recently put in a 366 spring and since then my idle is to high. The truck is idling around 1000rpm. I have tried to adjust the idle screw but the throttle is actually hitting the pump housing before it hits the idle screw. When i put the top of the pump back back together i made sure i lined up the index on the throttle shat correctly. Not sure what to do now. When looking at the throttle shaft and fuel linkage thebonly thing I can think of doing is changing the index on the throttle but not sure if that will change anything else.

Any help would be great appreciated

Rob

Index is probably what is going on. If you turn it just a hair it will have a big impact on how the truck idles.. or doesn't.

When I did my spring I had the same problem. I thought I got my shaft indexed the same as before but apparently not. Just clock it like mentioned above and you'll be running in no time.
