Charging Problems with 1993
Charging Problems with 1993
I need help, the truck is s 1993 W-250, the PO replaced the ECM, Alt, and it still wouldn't charge. I bought it and replaced the crank senser, both engine wiring harness's and still nothing. The main harness from the firewall forward has some broken wires could this be the problems? If so is that harness the same between the diesel and gas trucks? Any help would be great, let me know what you guys may think it is and what to look for. thanks agian
I'm sure the harness difference between gas and deisel would be very diffrent. Each has many components that the other won't have. Broke wires are bad and need to be fixed. They could very well be your problem. What kind of tests have you done with a voltmeter at your batteries?

Where is the fuseable link? The wiring harness from the alt to the fender mounted harness is new and so is the driveside engine harness. Both are brand new from Mopar. Thanks

sounds like the the fusible link is good then but just to make shore....!!! fined the large wire off of or bolted to the alt. its
looks like a stereo coax wire for your antana
A just went out and looked at my truck and....a......dus andy body now were the fusible link for the alt is???
Is it in the black box that atached to the alt?
Ka this is what i see...at the battery the post clamp has 3 wire that are part of the clamp. one the larges on is for the starter main power and the smallest one is feed to the ign sw and back to the sign side of the started. the 3d wire from the pos clamp gos all the way around the fire wall passanger fender and then to your alt.( there is a conector for this wire about 3" after it leave the bat.clamp and there is a nether on just before the alt. check for crusion at these conections!!!!
there should be power at the alt. and pos clamp!
Hope this help even tho i have comfused my self were the fusible link is?
