1992 Dodge 360 gas swap to a Cummins BT6 HELP
Hi This my first post so be easy if this has already been discussed, but i have searched an found nothing!
I have a 1992 Dodge 4x4 360 gas engine, standard 4 speed transmission with PTO winch an going to replace the engine with a BT6 Cummins.
My question is what do i need to adapt the Cummins BT6 to my standard transmission with a PTO Winch?
I bought a 1992 Dodge with a Cummins in it but had a bad auto tranny.
Help me please!!! Thanks in advance JJ

the early '89-90 trucks had 727 auto, adapting the flywheel/clutch assembly wont be worth what you could do to get a 5 speed, 90-93 getrag with bellhousing and adapter, '94-'02 nv4500 needs compatible bellhousing and adapter
The 92 would have an A518 AKA 46RH transmission. Not a bad tranny if built up a bit. Best TQ is Goerend. OD is strong but wears a bit fast if used under power a lot. Stock flex plate is a known weak link. If you're going to pull heavy, long, or steep, you need a transmission super cooler. (fan cooled frame mount)
