Nice pleather work.....
Thanks, I hope so. I just can't help myself, I am a habitual modifier. I thought about starting a help group. Modifiers anonymous. But I know where that would go.

I seam sealed my welds, keeps moisture out and helps keep pin holes in the welded area from dropping through. Plus, for $5 it makes the truck look sweet!

You could go with cheaper 3m marine 5200 stuff. The 7 day cure is really good and ace hardware sells it here for $2. The down side is the 7 day wait.

Perhaps you would always be modifying the group?

Thanks for the advice,
I have a couple tubes of seam seal. I should pickup a couple more.

With a 7 day cure time I probably would screw it up before it dried. either that or leave it alone and when I came back something would be glued to the floor.

Didn't get a lot done today. But I did get the ever growing uglier(paint) beast up on stands and ramps and leveled. now I will do a few things and see how much it settles. It is going to be nice not to have to bend over to work on the floor.

The way the stands work is the support a 1.5" solid bar and the truck sits on the bar. this way the stands won't interfere with mounting the leaf springs.

The best part is I can sit on the ground under the cab and not hit my head on the floor.

That stand system looks really good. Easy to use and out of the way.

Yeah it worked out pretty good. They are made out of old outriggers from some sort of power company equipment welded to a couple old 20" truck wheels. I wish we had two more though.

Only problem I see with that set-up is that when you want to roll the front diff under the truck the stands will be in the way. Unless the truck is high enough to clear a tire and rim rolling under it?

Could always roll it under on the rims.

I thought of that. The plan is to roll it in sideways on a cart.
That's the main reason I turned it around after I got the rear end together. I have enough room on the passenger side to maneuver around. I should be able to roll the differential to where I want it and roll the cart under it. set it down then roll it under the truck. we shall see.

This is sort of like building a boat in a basement.
