1989 CTD, strongly considering to buy
I originally posted this in the wrong section.
I drove this truck the other day. 89 dump truck w/38,000 miles. Truck is all that. Immaculate. My question, my first impression was that is was a slug. Or am I just use to my 01 with all the techno advances etc etc. With the "investment" of injectors, trans work, etc etc....can I get this to be not the slug that it is? It is a HD truck and not designed to go zero to sixty in 8 seconds but I do want a quicker truck. Something out of the ordinary....a sleeper.
Thanks...suggestions to BOM?

It won't be hard to "wake it up" In stock form they are dogs, however I'd rather buy a stock truck then a tweaked one! Get a pyro on there then go into the "sticky" make sure that it's getting full throttle, give it a little fuel, bump the timing, and get a 3200 sping in there... all you have to pay is for the pyro and the spring (spring is under $20) you will not believe that it is the same truck!!
Have fun!
