3 pin A518??? But has a 2 pin plug?
Ok so we’re do you start when the the truck has so many miles, trans is from a junk yard, you can tell die to the distinctive yellow marking paint, at first I thought it was a 727, then to find out it has the 2 pin connector with the blue and orange wire, plugged into a 3 pin connector on the trans, so I know the first pin would be over drive but from the prep owner he said it doesn’t work but looks like it hasn’t been connected in a long time as most of the wires have been cut away and are not connected to anything, does any one know what would happen once i hook everything up will it just not work or will something go wrong? The last pin is lock up, didn’t know it was even there, if some one converted this trans if I ground it out and somethings not connected right in the trans what could go wrong??
trying to figure out this basket case of a truck that has had countless people not know what they were doing
thanks in advance

There's a series of numbers on the driver side of the trans. You can have that decoded to determine if you have a 518 93 and earlier with non lockup, or a 1994 and up model with lockup

Sounds like it's a real mut. No telling what has been done or swapped in. It could be a non lockup with a lockup valve body in it or just a lockup solenoid assembly. Post a photo of the starter from inside the engine compartment and we can tell if it is a lockup trans and converter installed.

Looks like a '91.5-'93 auto, I would call the A-518, though I have heard people also call it the 46 RH.
The one I just looked at in my shop was the same other than having the 2 pronged pin.
The 47 RHs I have in the shop have a different bell housing part of the transmission casing style and #, so it doesn't appear to be a 47 RH.

So I’m I wrong by thinking it has lock up with the 3 pins? What could possibly go wrong with trying to Engage lock up if it’s a non lockup or if some parts are bad? Will it just not work or will I fry something?

Probably nothing but that trans does not have a lockup converter in it. You can't fit a lockup converter into a non lockup transmission. It also will not bolt up to the engine without the 2nd gen adapter.. Someone has changed the valve body or more likely just the solenoid assembly.
