Was just wondering if its worth the trouble. There was a thread not too long ago about the HE351 from the 04.5-07 motors, and he seemed to like it.

Welp,

I just picked one up for $200, and am going to be a guinea pig I guess. As mentioned before, it's a turbo that uses technology that is at least 10 years newer. So, who knows...

I'll be going from a 60 mm compressor to a 54 mm I think. The exhaust outlet on the HE341 is 3.5" and I think the H1C uses a 3" outlet, so maybe that will help EGT's some. This turbo is also off a HO motor, not sure if they used different turbos than the SO motors of that era.

A guy just did this with a 92 W250 red/white.

He put a 03-04 turbo on it and everyone gave him crap about putting on a 03-04 one and not a HE351 on newer trucks.

he did a 4 inch dp and stuff at the same time.

The 341 is a 54/58/9.
The 351 measures 60/60/9.

I dont think im anywhere near 300 horse (stock I/C injectors) and my egts can reach a rather toasty 1400, i dont think you'll get 300 horse at least not with reasonable egts. The advice i got is sell the 341 to the ricer crowd and get a 351, which i plan on doing when i get the funds. Just something to consider

Um, what turbo are you using though?

I dont see how the HE341 can not hit 300 whp. It was already supporting 305 at the crank and then alot of 3rd gen guys buy programmers and turn up the fuel and timing.
