Thumbs down *POPPED* My Turbo...

Well...on my way to a friend's house down the road I was making a left turn over an overpass, at about 10mph, in Neutral...When I put the truck in gear, and eased into the throttle, the Air Inlet Hose came off the filter flange. So I pulled over right then and put it back on. I jumped back in and the truck was running like . I limped it to my buddy's house and took the hose off the compressor...

Low & Behold...the compressor wheel looks like it got some lunch. Seems like a bird feather may have gotten sucked in...there's a small piece of feather stuck between the shaft and the comp. wheel nut.

I found a few pieces of broken aluminum from the blades of the wheel sitting inside the inlet tube.

Truck runs fine at idle...I don't think anything got into the motor.

Is there anything I should check? Like the intercooler? Just to make sure nothing got into it?

Also...anyone have a spare turbo for the "turbo guy" I seemed to have run out ... just my luck!!!

I'll get a few pics up this weekend...

honestly? I wouldn't worry about it... technicly, you should yank the intercooler and clean it out, but that's a pretty serious beat down, and you've got the intercooler AND the intake heater grid to stop any shrapnel...

I've got one at the shop that is tagged WH1C, if you need it, send me a PM, and I'll see if I can't get it shipped to you via UPS. I think it came of of a 94 or 95, waste gated housing included if ya want.

WH1C would be off a '94. Mine's working real nice. 30 psi and I haven't turned the main screw yet. Keeps my EGT's at an even 1000 on the top end.

Forrest...sorry, haven't got a way to get to the junkyard to snap some pics...The CDI unit went out on my motorcycle, and the truck is still dead

I might be able to take my girls Mustang out for a while and get some shots of the bed....

Any chance you still have that bad cartridge?

I need a new shaft for an H1, no need for the housings, just the cartridge and a blown compressor is fine since I only need the shaft.

LMK (email), thanks.

TomJ...sorry, I'm using that turbine wheel/shaft and bearing housing with an HX35 Compressor wheel in a machined H1C compressor housing.

Holset no longer makes the H1C turbos or parts...so you'll need to poke around some salvage yards... they usually got for -$100 or so for a complete turbo...

Not locally, they're not easy to come by and when you do they want too much.

Any chance you run accross useable/serviceable H1's there?
