will not idle, very touchy throttle

hey guys, yesterday i was driving along, and all of a sudden the pedal went real soft and revved to about 2200 and then dropped off and died. i fired it up again and it would not idle at all and if i even touch the throttle it goes up to about 2 grand and then hangs around for a bit and drops so fast i cant even react and hit the throttle. with it in gear and driving around its better, but still sticks bad sometimes and revs way up with no warning. if any one has any tips id apreciate it, i looked around lots on here and found some, but not lots of help.
Matt

Have you messed with your governor springs? It sounds like a problem with them if you ask me.

yeah! if the governor springs stud is bent up, causes weird problems!!!!

you might wanna look into it! when I worked on a buddys truck, i could see the stud had bent, and the springs all jammed up, not saying its your problem,,, but most likely its the governor assembly
