Where to put bypass filter?

I am expecting my Amsoil bypass filter unit to arrive any day now. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on the best location to install this unit? Fabrication of the mounting hardware should not be a problem.

As always, thanks for the great help!

I made a bracket that shares the passenger side battery hold down bolts.
Have seen others use the area at the far back driver's side corner under the hood but this only works on rigs that don't have 4 wheel ABS

I have the same set-up ...I made a mount and moved mine to an area just about the middle of the truck cab on the passengers side , if you look where the floor comes up to the hump .
I made a mount off the frame and a little shield to guard from rocks . For me that worked out perfect , I also have a mounted a remote full size trans filter right off the front support ... just under the rad...Thats a good place too ... just don't forget a sheild .
Hope this helps
Greg

What about a location for us twin turbo guys... There is not enough room with the filters on the battery and the intake tube on the BHT3B...
I am running the towing twins from PDR and there is NOT enought room for the tube to make the bend with the filters there...

I mounted mine here on the core support.

Made up this gaurd of stainless.

Probably won't suit everybody but works very well for me. I can change both filters in about five minutes.

Mess?

Infidel,

I like the idea of having the filters right up where you can get to them without crawling under the machine, but what about the mess factor? How difficult is it to change the filters without spilling, splattering, etc all over that area of the engine compartment?

Just put a plastic grocery bag around the filters before you take them off. Make sure it don't have holes in it though.

Wow....kinda amazed with the size of oil lines used for a bypass filter! If I ever figure out how to post the pics of where I put my Frantz, I will post them, but I tucked mine behind the extreme rt. corner of the bumper. Very protected, and yet easy to change. Also, when I changed it the other day, it takes about 20 seconds to have the canister removed and there is very little oil that drains.
