Where to get oil analysis?
http://www.blackstone-labs.com/
You basically send in a sample either using their container (and mailer box) or follow the instructions on thir website on how to package and ship the sample.
You include info like type of oil, miles on oil, type of usage with vehicle (towing, plowing, etc), then they send you a results showing wear metals, contaiminants (like fuel, coolant, soot), and other ingredients commonly found in engine oil. It also measures viscosity (oil thinning, breakdown).
There is a little more to the analysis than that, but thats a brief description. Your also looking for a trend especially in wear metals over long periods of time and with periodic sampling to deterimine the current health of your engine.
The link I gave you is a good place to start, has good info, and has a good reputation. KD

Drop into any Big Rig shop, Tell the parts guys you want to send a sample of your oil in for analysis , they will have a kit there , box , bottle , instructions , etc. they will have a place to mail it to and give you the results.
My nearby Cummins Northwest has an overnight sample drop box with containers and instructions.
$7 for an analysis that puts the $24 Blackstone Labs one to shame.
Most any Cat or John Deere dealer also offers the service for a decent price.
