Thumbs up Oil Analysis with 15W40 Supertech oil at 194k miles

Just got my oil tested from 4,000 miles of HARD miles.. about 8 sled pull hooks and daily driving with high EGT runs.
This was using Wal-Mart SuperTech 15W40 motor oil and a FRAM filter..
I had a BHAF installed the whole time.

Here are the results:
Spectrochemical Analysis *PPM*
Iron: 42
Chromium: 2
Lead: 0
Copper: 3
Tin: 0
Aluminum: 6
Nickel: 0
Silver: 0
Silicon: 16
Boron: 5
Sodium: 12
Magnesium: 17
Calcium: 2732??
Barium: 0
Phosphorus: 1051?
Zinc: 1289?
Molybenum: 7
Titanium: 0
Vanadium: 0
Potassium: 0

Physical Properties
Fuel: % Volume: N/A
Vis @40C N/A
Vis @100C: 13.72
Water % by volume: 0
Soot Solids: 2.1% by weight
Glycol: NEG

I talked to the guy who ran the testing.
The only thing he commented on was the soot-solids

Any comments? How does this look for an engine with 194k?

Is 16 high for Silicon?

I'm guessing your in the minority with those choices of filter and lube. I recently switched over to Fleetguard from FRAM after reading the horror stories. Still use them on my other cars though,

He said everything look normal, the only thing that was out of spec by a little bit was the soot content.

I know a lot of people bash WalMart oil so I figured I'd have it tested before I switched to Conklin oil.

I just bash WalMart in general. Oil is a toughie though, cause of the fact that so many people package the SAME oil for sale in different stores and such. I say if you like it and it serves you well, more power to you!

The 16 silicon is high, I like to see under 5ppm.
Silicon usually comes though the air intake but just opening the engine up for a valve adjustment or any other type of work can raise the level no matter how clean you try to be. Just minute amount of dirt/dust getting in the sample can jack it up it also.

I've always learned to pick one brand of oil and stick with it. That's why I wouldn't use SuperTech. Apparently like all Walmart products they go for the cheapest source and you could be getting a different brand with every oil change.
