Where to buy U-joints?
I have been searching, and reading old threads for a couple of hours now, and I am tired. I'm looking for Spicer u-joints for my 96, front drive shaft. The middle one is clanking and rattling, it is so loose. I am hoping to find the ones that have the grease fitting in one of the caps.
If you have purchased Spicer joints, where did you purchase them? I have not been able to find part numbers for Spicer, and searching for Spicer yielded some places to buy joints, but no applicaituon guides to tell me which joints I need to buy. Napa's web site said nothing about Spicer joints. I will go by there tomorrow, but I am not hopeful at this time.
I'm frustrated here. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Chris

You could also ask the guys on www.pirate4X4.com - theyll be able to tell ya where to get them.
Bummer, my Auto Zone didn't have Spicer, they had some really Junky ones. The best ones I found in town before I found the Spicers at the trailer shop were at Napa...Precision I think was the brand...better than what they had at the Zone, or O'Reilly's.

Thanks for the info guys. I went to Napa today and although one counterman said they still had some Spicer units, as he was walking by, working on someone else's issue, the guy that was helping me could not find a way to look them up (the other guy acted liek he was busy and wouldn't respond to my counterman when he asked ho to look them up). In the mean time, he found me some heavy-duty Napa brand, with grease fittings in the caps, USA cast into the body, and a lifetime warranty. I figure it can't get any better than that, if they last, so I am going to give them a try. I bought them.
Scratch that, he found me ONE that was made in the USA, with a fitting in the cap. After I agreed to try them he got the warehouse to send up 2 more (warehouse is in back) and I just took a look at them, only to find that the other 2, same part number, are made in Japan and have the grease fitting in the joint cross, not the cap. 70.00 for all, including tax.
I'm going to go back and see if I can get some with the fittings in the cap. I'm not really worried about Japan, as they make some pretty good quality stuff.
All 3 joints are the same, and Napa PN 215-0354. The catalog says they fit 94-2002 front driveshafts.
Thanks for your responses,
Chris
