well she wont crank
well she wont crank
Ive got 95 12v thats wont crank. well ill make it short it started about 2months ago it would not crank after sitting facing uphill or it would loose fuel prime after 3 days of sitting so i changed overflow valve , pre-heater assembly, liftpump, fuel filter. It got better a small power gain(filter was dirty) it has been losing power the last couple weeks and losing prime after 1.5 days. The power problem the last two days has the engine kinda in a limp mode when it is floored about 20mph no smoke, no acceleration just gradual like a tractor and becoming hard to crank. Drove last night it had full power back for 3-4 miles headed home gave all the pedal and it choked after pulling good to about 40 and it became gutless no pedal power. Today she wont crank any suggestions?

sounds like at lest two seperate problems. A no crank situation can only be the starter, cables, or batteries pretty much. No power (with no smoke) is some kind of fuel delivery problem.
Unless it cranks and just wont start? Themn I d look at the fuel control valve, not pulling open.

When you say it won't crank do you mean it won't start or do you mean it will not even turn over like if the starter was bad. If you mean it won't start then I think you have an air leak it your fuel lines either from or to the tank or from the lift pump to the injector pump. This is a common problem. You will need to replace all the steel line to and from the tank with rubber line rated for diesel fuel. It is not an easy job so get the best fuel line you can get you only want to do this job once. I paid about $125 for some marine diesel fuel line when I did mine. You will need to drop the tank. The lines are hard to reach up by the engine. If it won't even turn over then you have 2 seperate problems.
You need to find an air leak.
Pressurize the tank, 10 psi max, then go hunting.
With two people you can pressurize with a blow gun wrapped in a rag and a hunter.
I do this so often that I use an old fuel cap with an air fitting tapped into it.
