trans temp ?

I asked a while back about temp sensor adding to trans ,I had found a sensor in the cooling line near the pan some one ansewred back that they thought that the last owner did a mod but there is a temp lite on the dash so that makes it stock , so now what I am wandering is can I get a sensor and gage to work in that fitting .

Since you have a '94 (47RH tranny), you won't be able to use ithat fitting for a temp gauge. The PCM uses it to turn the idiot light on, and to know if the oil is warm enough to go into O/D during the winter. Won't shift into O/D 'til about 20* or so. That line on the 47RE, doesn't come with the port. I added one to mine, for a gauge.

On the RH, the sender goes into one of the test ports on the tranny, or in the pan.

You should put your new sensor in the stock port. The port is 3/8" so you'll probably need a 3/8"x1/8" bushing. You will have to jump the wires that used to go to the stock sender with a 1000 ohm resistor (Radio Shack 25¢) to fool the PCM into reading normal tranny temp.
