Trans Lines - What do I have?
Trans Lines - What do I have?
I checked my transmission lines to see if they've been upgraded and there are no quick connects by the transmission. The only ones I found are up at the front of the engine under the balancer. There are hoses with gear clamps after that. The front line has a T by the trans with a broken sending unit in it. I don't see any extra loose wires hanging down. I think I read somewhere that the stock trans temp sending unit is in the transmission. Is this correct or am I missing the stock sending unit? I'd like to use this T for hooking up a temp guage. Is the front line the best place for it? Thanks
Re:Trans Lines - What do I have?
The quick disconnects are screwed into the tranny and the lines plug into them, they are also on the heat exchanger up by the turbo. If they have been changed you will see brass fittings screwed into the tranny and the cooler and your lines will have B-nuts on them. The T-Fitting you see is where the tranny temp sender goes.
Re:Trans Lines - What do I have?
Thanks Jrr. I do have brass fittings screwed into the tranny. A nice surprise for a change.
Does the stock temp sending unit go into the T or can I put my guage sending unit in there?
