Track Bar End Links

A moderator on the other diesel forum who has nothing else to do but delete posts deleted this twice so let’s see if this forum is less g*y

I bought a set of Carli Bar End Links for my 1996 4x4 12 valve dually. The instructions and two guys at CJC Off-road said I need to remove the track bar, flip it and rotate it so the bar is above the towers instead of below as stock. I did that and the links don’t look correct. I wanted to see if any of you guys have installed these and had a similar experience? Thanks for any help and ESPECIALLY the mod that is working so hard to make the forum a pleasant and safe place for truck owners to get the help they need. Doing a great job man.

Never seen the flip the sway bar and install the links on the other side of the bracket. The angle those links are on does not look good.

Have you tried installing it like the factory would to see if it looks that wack?

They said flip the TRACK BAR?…..Swap bar MAYBE…..Track bar has a ball joint at one end and takes a bolt at the other, you literally can not flip it and still attach it.

Did I mean to say SWAY BAR? CJC Off-road 100% told me multiple times to remove the sway bar and flip it so the passenger side is now on the driver’s side. And then rotate it upwards so it is above the mounts.

The angle on the SWAY bar links looks crappy in your picture. Does it look any better with the sway bar in the stock location?

Did you send them a pic showing how you have it installed now so they can give you an idea if what you are doing is what they wanted done? I'm with Oliver on this it does not look correct at all.

I sent the photo to CJC Off-road and they got back to me. They said the way I have it installed is the best way to install the Carli end links HOWEVER since my truck is stock ride height they will probably sit like that unless I do a lift kit on the truck. I’m really hoping they will give me a deal on a lift kit so I can get the thing setup correctly.

I bet those links look a lot better with a 6 inch lift. The angle there are at right now, I would guess they will wear out quickly.

6 inches would def be too much… I’m thinking 3 inch lift is what I’m going to get

Well when you get it all installed, post up some pictures.

I am wondering if 3 inches is enough to straighten out those bad angles on that link.

My question to you is do they not make ones to fit a stock configuration truck? if not I'm pretty sure you could buy several sets of the stock style ends for the price of those plus the price of a lift kit.
