Track Bar

Ok, so I was thinking about replacing the track bar on my 99, I saw a thread on here that had www.lukeslink.com so I looked it up. It looks like a good idea, but the site has limited info. Anyone have experience with their stuff? I guess with this setup I don't need a new bar? Can I repalce my tierod ends with these also?

Its a good repair but ...someone correct me if im wrong ,if you do off roading i think you can ruin the link by flexing the suspension to far ...like driving /crossing /paralleling a ditch If you mostly drive on pavement its a great repair

not bashing lukes link but this will fix the end of it. alot of times a trac bar can also be bent and you wont know this. so people choose to upgrade to a DSS, thuren, DT pro-fab, adjustable strack bar. as far as strenght I have never seen one bent. the bushings on the DSS may or may not limit flex to a certain point. but have heard many happy people with luke's just dont know if they are doing any moderate/Medium offroading.

Track bars are not that expensive. Buy one that has a lifetime warranty. Thats my plan very soon on my 2002.

I have this style sitting in my garage with only 30k miles on it if interested PM me. would get rid of cheap. and as far as the lifetime warranty ones. IMO sounds great intill you have to keep taking them off every year because they bend. will yours who knows. I have just been there done that with moog's bar and napa line. hope yours holds up.

lifetime warranty, at best, means you will be replacing it every year or 3...upgrade unless you like replacing the track bar bi-annually. Personally, while simple IMHO it's a PITA.
Lukes link is a great stop gap- ran one for a few years but there is still the fundamental flaw that the ball/socket joint is not up to the task it is given in the track bar- and the joint still wears out as does the elastic spring in the LL.

Ran one for a few years and adjusted as necessary until it got to the point the elastomer spring had it- a call to LL got me a rebuild kit which brought it back until the ball had worn enough to pop out of the joint- and there's nothing to do to fix that.

I would suggest the 3rd gen upgrade conversion or a heim joint model-0 leave the ball/socket style behind.

Pretty much very true...mine has slop in it now and I'll be adjusting it again.

Ok so what has to be done to the truck to accomidate the 3rd gen track bar? Or can I bolt it right up? Pretty sure mine is shot, original with 191,000 miles. Got the wobbles!

all aftermarket bars require a upper bracket with kit. dt-pro fabs, thuren, DSS, BD's etc. but the key to the good combo is the adj trac bar plus the steering box shaft stabilizer also.

I like my dtprofab. Beet the holy crap out of it and is still holding well, but I did end up tack welding the brackets in since I was having to keep re-torqueing the mount bolts.

Thanks for all the info guys, looks like its gonna cost me either way I go. I have a link to what I was considering but I don't know if I need it all.

Give me some opinions on this, I also looked at the DT, but this looks cheaper for all components.
