ticking over 2200rpms
ticking over 2200rpms
I have a 1995, auto, cummins. At 2200rpms or over I get this ticking noise, it seems worse if I am under a load. Theres 200,000 miles on engine, has any one heard of the haunted 12 valve tick? thanks Pete
i got a clicking noise problem too, but i think its from the trans. check my thread call click, click, click with the hammer down. if that sounds like you, try pulling your trans relay from the block under the hood, and see if it stops. don't go very far without the relay, though, as the tranny will get really hot.
I have a ticking noise that comes in around 2200rpm too. It seems to kinda go away over that and not at all under that, but I have heard another 94 auto do it. I guess its something about these trucks. Something vibrates or something. Mine ONLY does it when its cold outside even when the motor is at operating temperature. I wish I could figure out what it was, but I dont worry about it anymore because I have heard other do the exact same thing. Mine also only does it while under load.
