Throttle linkage kit?

I've been trying to piece together a 95 Ram that my brother-in-law bought. Since this truck has been passed around, in pieces, between at least 3 owners, some parts have been lost. I'm down to trying to find the throttle linkage. Specifically, the linkage and spring bracket to the rear of the P7100 pump. I found a part # for the throttle linkage kit which would provide the parts needed, and update the design to a linkage like my 97 has. The problem is the kit has been discontinued. The part # is 05011726AA. It contains the throttle rod, aluminum mounting block, rear lever, throttle return springs, spring bracket, throttle ball studs, and some other small ball studs. It sure would have been nice if the kit was still in production, since, he's missing all that the kit contains. Does anyone have a line on this kit somewhere? Or, if someone happens to know the individual part #'s for the those parts? I've reached the point where I'm going to have to start fabricating this stuff. I'd really like to avoid having to do that right now. Thanks for the help and info.!!!

Go to a dodge dealer and ask to see a CANZ9700 throttle linkage recall kit. It should be of some help.

Thanks for trying to help Pohl1967, but, CANZ9700 only solves half the problem. I have that kit ordered for him to cover the missing throttle parts at the forward most linkage assembly and the "about to break" throttle cable. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide any of the parts for the throttle linkage on the rear of the pump. He literally is missing everything in the kit I mentioned in first post, from the lever to the throttle rod. Thanks for trying, I do appreciate it!!!

According to Cummins Quickserve all the parts are available for my 97, not sure if they are the same as a 95. Copy and paste squeezed the columns together. Column one is the reference # from the picture, yes means it is for sale, part name andthe last number is quantity required. Un fortunately quick serve doesn't give part #s. A Cummins parts counter would have the schematic you need.

GAmes, thanks for the info! I'll have to check out Cummins Quickserve, then call the local Cummins again. When we spoke with Dodge and Cummins(locally) on Friday, both said the kit was discontinued. Neither offered to look up individual part #'s, so, we'll try again on Monday and see if someone there might be able to look this stuff up and get it. We were left with the impression, and actually told by the local Dodge, that no parts are available outside of the CANZ9700 safety recall kit that we already have ordered. Thanks for the help. When I find out more I'll post back with what happened.

I don't know where you live, but the counterman in Ft. Worth once looked up the individual parts for a fuel line assembly for me and ordered the one little part I needed.

I figured I'd give a little update on the linkage kit. We tried several local diesel shops, a yard that does nothing but cummins diesels, and junk yards hoping to find something. My bother-in-law spoke with the local Cummins shop and had no luck getting the parts for the rear linkage. I stopped at another Dodge dealer and finally spoke with someone who really tried to find what was needed. In the end, to get the parts he needs, he has to buy the whole assembly kit...contains everything from the front linkage to the rear. I think they said it's something like $460+. So, just a word of advice...if you ever take the pump off the truck, don't do what the previous owners of this one did and lose parts. Many are just not available anymore.

If it is only available from Dodge, here is a better source. If you have the part number it would speed things up. Be sure to ask for internet parts and when you get a quote confirm it is the internet price. This is a Dodge dealer in NM. Shipping usually is less than sales tax. http://www.mopar4less.com/

As a general rule Dodge only sells repackaged Cummins parts, but I suppose there could be a separate supplier.

I have bought numerous parts from them, and yes their internet price is less than over the counter. That is why you have to confirm internet price when you call them. If you don't the price will be the same as your local Dodge dealer. Another plus is shipping is usually less than TX sales tax, which I know does not affect you guys in MT.

GAmes, thanks for the link again. I had already forwarded that link to my brother-in-law before. The problem we're running into is a limited number of the parts in the entire throttle assembly are sold individually now. The thottle lever in the rear linkage is a great example, since, it happens to be one of the parts that's needed. There is a part # for it. Every place we've spoken with has come up with the same result. When the part # is looked up, whether it be on a dealers computer, cummins, or everyplace we've tried, there's a note indicating that it is unavailable unless you buy the entire assembly containing all the parts in the picture you posted about 7 posts back. It's very much become an all or nothing deal for many of the throttle assembly parts. Items like springs and one of the spring anchor brackets was readily available, but, not the oh so needed lever. Thanks again for trying to help. I'm just glad it's not my truck. I'm already frustrated that the overflow valve I bought for mine and ended up on his in the process of putting this thing back together had gone up in price. Now it's going to cost me $10 more to get one for my truck. I know it's only $10, but, it's still more. I feel bad for my brother-in-law, but, unless we start to fabricate the parts ourselves, he's got to bite the bullet on this one.
