Question Sucking down the gas

since I turned up my fuel pump, moved my fuel plate, and put a stright pipe on it my truck has been sucking down the gas. On a full tank of gas stock I used to get about 600 now I get about 300 if I'm lucky. Is there any thing I can do to get better miles??? I still want the power but better fuel miles!

Start by putting diesel fuel in it! Gas is bad for mileage! What have you been getting for mileage? Since you did those mods, you are probably driving the truck differently. Try driving like there is a brick between the floor and the skinny pedal. If that doesn't help, look for leaking fuel. Check all the fuel lines and make sure there isnt any diesel in the oil. Other members with more 12 valve experience will chime in and throw out some more ideas soon. Good luck.

Try backing your plate off just a slight amount. Also if you have the starwheel fuul forward along with the AFC plate full forward I have heard that this can cause yuor fuel mileage to fall. Try backing things off just a little and see what happens.

Seems to me all was just well

before u turned up the pump, if you like smoke, thats alot of fuel going to waste, IE power you can see but cannot use... 600 miles per tank is pretty good, i usually get 480-520 with mine, depending on towing, and 4wd useage. But i tend to stay off of it unless i wanna have fun

Look at my BOMB's. With the starwheel full forward and the AFC full REAR Im getting between 450 and 500 miles to a tank and I drive my truck kind of hard. There is definately no egg under my "GO" pedal. What gears do you have? AUTO or STICK?

Funny, with my AFC full forward and the starwheel full forward mine was sluggish from the get go and I could smoke out an intersection with out even trying. I moved everything back just a little and I went from 16 mpg to 18 mpg.
