Straight pipe is good! Sounds very good with a nice deep tone. I left my cat on and it sounds perfect, even has turbo wine at idle. Its loud enough to realy get someones attention, but can easily be controlled next to an officer!!

I put straight pipe from the resinator back, sounds real good too. This way if you ever get stopped or have to do emissions test it is still there.

Of course I would never violate the law and do such a thing, but I have heard that some just use a bar or tire iron to break out the guts of the cat and put the shell back on. They say that it still looks like the cat is still there although straight thru. I guess some people just do not have any respect for the tree huggers.

O.K. guys, you caught me red handed. I am one of the many that have nothing but a straight pipe under my truck. No cat, no muffler, no nothing. But i really DONT CARE . It will be a sad day when i own a CTD with a muffler and/or cat on it. They sound to good to let a few little stuffed pieces of pipe(muffler/cat) muffle out the awesome sound they make. My dads is not straight piped, and mine is, and i would never go back to having a muffler. I told him the other day that if I ever get his truck, that will be the very 1st thing done to it. So CANUCKCTD, in my opinion there is NO downside to pulling out the cat and muffler. All they do is hog performance and make your motor run hotter, and poorer. Sorry this is so long, but I had to prove my point that STRAIGHT PIPE=AWESOME SOUND=BETTER.

Straight pipe is even better when you go buy a brick building, or cement wall on the right side I always make sure to roll the passenger side window down and let her bark a bit

Definitely do it!

I think maybe everyone should state their age when they state their opinion. I don't have a problem with teenagers, I have a couple of my own. But when someone is asking about the sound, it's kind of funny how it is perceived differently from one age group to the next.
This was not intended to offend anyone.

I'm 29 with 16 years experience
and I love my straight pipes.

Of course mine go straight up [ except for the little turn at the top ] so it doesn't matter which side the wall is on.

I'm 62 and like the sound of the Cummins pulling up a hill. Mine is full straight pipe. Sooner or later it will get stacks so I can hear it better..

I won't argue a bit that they sound great. I'm 38 and miss the sound sometimes. Problem was at 75mph for hours on end the drone was too much.

Hey Steve Roseman, how much did the 215 injectors help your truck? Did you have the plate in before you put them in? If so, could you tell a pretty big difference? I think if I ever get a good torque converter/valve body for my transmission, i might put some 215 injectors in.
