I'm assuming it's the 22mm drain plug for the 94-01Ram and not the 18mm one for the older ones.

The DV copper washers were only used on '94&'95, you don't need one if you have a '96.
The DV o-rings are only there to keep dust out, not fuel pressure in. They almost always can be reused.

22mm is right. I bought one of those drain plugs that you have to screw teh straw onto to drain, and used the old plug for the dial holder.

When the piston is at TDC, the valve will drop less than .100", probably closer to .070". Marking the balancer when the dial stopping isn't terribly accurate due to piston dwell. Marking the balancer at a given travel on the dial is better since it will be equal distances on either side of TDC, measure and mark the middle.

I have a degree wheel I can use on the crank to get it perfect, I just didn't want to drop a valve keeper if I couldn't hold the valve high enough to get it back on. I also have a valvespring compressor which may work out well, but the one from Geno's is tempting since it's known to work. Mine is made for an OHC engine and bolts to the head. I'd have to see if there would be a place to bolt it to though...

My 95 had a deliver valve washer in it. My 97 did not have the washer. I sort of freaked out, thinking it was lost or I dropped it without realizing it, but then I read that some of the newer 12 valves did not come with delivery valve washers.

I re-used the washer and O ring on my 95 without a problem.

Try searching Ebay for a Snap-On SP500 or a Miller 6860. Buy them used, and they are cheaper than anything else, and come with all the stuff you need.

No need to compress the spring with a tool. Put a dial on the valve and run it down with the rocker arm adjuster .100", then bar the engine and watch for the deflection. Mark the balancer. Do the same on the other side of TDC. Mark between the two points. Thats now your TDC.

Dang, I didn't even think of the rocker being able to adjust. I guess I'm just so used to non adjustable rockers and hydo lifters. Thanks!!!
