Not a Dodge but the theory is the same. A metal "O" ring is installed in the head or the block and adds extra clamping force to the head gasket.

When is it recommended that a head get O-Ringed ?

What's the expected cost to do so ??

Kat, O-ringing is but the first step into financial oblivion.......... You know, since I have it O-Ringed, I should really buy a Turbo to put 60 PSI in there.............


Then think about your mechanic with the 1800 Hp Cummins.

Not trying to dissuade you, but been there done that, got the carnage pics to prove it.

Can you guys be more specific?

bore diameter size of the oring?

Wire type? (stainless, copper etc)

diameter of wire?

protrusion of wire from head?

and MOST IMPOrtantly......which head gasket gets used with an Oringed HEAD?

and lastly, I thought there were atleast two different studs out for heads? Are there still? (12mm) or not.

Is it worth it to go up in head stud size?
