Safe mods for 300hp

I've done a lot of searching on the p-pump mods for more power but I'd like to know what needs to be done to be 300 hp roughly without worrying about EGTs. I already have 5" exhaust and a HTS built trans to handle it

I would add a Pyrometer first. The only way you will know what is going on.

That's next on my list but I'm just looking for simple mods to the pump that won't raise egts real high but give me some more power. Right now I can't even accelerate with traffic its so slow. I don't plan on WOT runs so would pulling the plate and turning the starwheel work? And would the afc mods be worth while for 300hp level?

Move your AFC full forward and loosen (forward) your AFC star screw,15 degree timing..That would make a big difference...After that a fuel plate and 3k or 4k pump springs...That should give you aleast 300 HP..

I went with a #11 fuel plate, a bit forward, Great power boost with no higher EGT's. Cheap, easy and worth the money. I think it adds 50=75 Hp. Definitely feelable.

I pulled my fuel plate and didn't notice much of a difference. I understand that basically a full throttle stop and I'm not holding it wide open so maybe that's why. Also I thought there would be smoke being there's more fuel but there's hardly a puff. I then loosened the star wheel just a bit which made a slight difference
