Unhappy ring and pinion help, Please

What are some signs of a bad rear end yall? any input at all please would help very much. Truck is kinda thumping at idle speed, I only notice it at idle speed. When cornering it kinda feels like a growling, the thumping feels like it is coming from the drive train directly for sure . Please any help yall???

could be your carrier bearing on the drive shaft. Mine went bad and sounded the same way. put it on jack stands and turn the rear wheels and listen.

So have you ruled out ujoints?
Guess you'll have to pop the rear cover and have a look.
does the housing get really hot after driving? They do get warm but a bad bearing will make it get really hot.

it could maybe be the u joints, ever since I got the one piece in the truck in has had a teeth chattering vibration between 65 and 75, I have put maybe 5,000 miles on it like that. I also had a broken lift block pin that let one side of the axle slide an inch back (my carrier bearing culprit) I just got the axle straightened out, so all 5,000 miles were at a bad angle. do ya think the u joints could be shot that quick with the bad angle and vibrating. they are balancing it for free when I get a chance to take it back in. And Im guessin a bad (really bad) u-joint could feel like a rear end prob huh??
