Repowering with a 1998 12 valve

I've been scouring the archives until my eyes fell out, but couldn't find a straight up answer. I'm swapping a 1998 5.9 12 valve for a well-worn 3.9BT in an older step van. I'm using 5-speed from a different '98 12 valve, but the 5.9 I picked up was bolted to an automatic. I got the entire engine and all accessories, wiring harness (engine harness and everything else from the fuse block to the batterries to the lights), radiator, intercooler, tranny adapter and flex plate.
Here's the question- what needs to be done to get the engine running in its happy new home? I mean, with all the sensors and wires and the computer box and all, what do I REALLY need to do to make the mill run? I've got water temp, oil pressure, oil temp and EGT gauges to keep an eye on the vitals, but is this a case of "#2 + 12 volts = go", or am I not seeing something?
Thanks in advance for any help, and don't be shy if I've missed something. I'd be bummed if I did all this work to be foiled by something overlooked.

i would think almost all of the wiring off the 3.9 would be a direct plug and play onto the 5.9 so in that case it would be a matter of plugging everything in and hooking up fuel lines etc and starting it.

also its unlikely the 4bt was intercooled so if your going to run the 5.9 intercooled you'll have to run the piping and setup the intercooler.

All you need for a 12v to run is 12v to start it, and a supply of diesel...
