Removing California EGR

My new 12v truck is from Ca and therefore has the restrictive EGR and intake. I bought on from a 97 with no EGR and have the gasket. I plan to remove the EGR and put a plate over the port in the exhaust, getting rid of the whole system, and opening up the intake. Anything else I should be looking for or considering? Would anyone have a use for this junk before I toss it? The truck already has a #10 plate and gauges. After I see what difference the intake makes, on with the 4" exhaust and some more tweaking. I'm not in Ca so it shouldn't be a problem.

You will need this circuit to "fool" the ECU and avoid a check engine light

mine didnt get a check engine light when i took all that stuff off. i took off the egr, put on a HTT manifold and put a stock intake manifold from a 97 that was from CA. man the engine seems so much happier now and it gives me a warm fuzzy not having all that crap on there
