Remove radiator fan for winter?

Does anyone remove their radiator fan for the winter? If so, has your truck ever overheated?

If it's really that cold why not use a winter front and a belly tarp?

I used to take my fan off every winter, usually from Nov - June but since global warming took our winter away for the most part I've left it on. We're lucky to get more than a couple weeks of below 20F weather in the past five years.
Not taking it off is more due to laziness than concern about overheating. I never saw the coolant temps start to rise at all until the outside temp was well into the 70s in stop and go traffic with the A/C on. Just flipping the A/C off was enough to bring the temp down.
Taking the fan off is the easy part. Once you figure it out the only part that needs removing is the fan itself, no need to remove the shroud. Trick is to pull it up so a blade is on each side of the radiator hose, then rotate the fan clockwise.
Hard part is putting it back on, engine is so much quieter without it.
