Radiator Pressure
I had the radiator flushed and filled at a local shop a few months ago and they replaced/swapped caps. I noticed the one I've been running for the last 3 months is essentially gutted. It doesn't build up pressure; just lets the fluid flow in and out of the overflow reservoir freely.
My question is: Could this do any damage or has it done any damage I haven't recognized yet.
I was a little concerned with cavitation (it seems like it would be easier to do without the 15 psi) and maybe some hot spots. The temp gauge has been doing it normal thing of bouncing between 150-190. No coolant loss and the last oil sample was in line with the dozen others over the years.
Any input would be appreciated. cd
