pump timming
i just need to know if there is a way to get the pump its self in time without the timming lock pin. the pin is missing from the pump and i didnt know if you can look in there to see if it is where it needs to be before i put it on the truck. thanks
If the "little arm" comes around to the center of the hole and the engine is at TDC this would be stock timing for that engine. The timing pins on these engines are not the best things to go by, however they can give you some idea. Also this can all be changed by a pump shop, they can set up the pump for more/less timing when the "little arm" is centered and the engine is at TDC ......hope this helps

It will time it to where the pump rebuilder wanted it set to. Set engine at TDC, set the pump so the arm is in center of the hole, lock it up. Thats how you'd do it if you don't have the dial setup.
