Problems Starting.
Heres my problem.
I let my truck sit over night and try to start it and it will start initially no problem but then it seems as if it looses fuel and dies. After cranking on it for a few minutes I seem to get fuel back and then the truck runs just fine. But when it does start I get a good puff of white smoke and then it goes away. Can anyone help me start looking in the right direction so I can get this fixed before I burn up a starter.Thanks.

Hey FM, I hit you up on the help forum, but by posting here, I assume you have a 12V? To find your problem, after it has set all night, on the drivers side of the engine, the lift pump has a black rubber button ( if the rubber has rotted off, the plunger will be hollow and white plastic ). Pump that until you hear a spitting sound similar to forcing air thru your front teeth. This is your system saying it is now primed. Now see if she fires right up and get back to us.
By far the most common overnight hard to start problem is an air leaking 5/16" x two foot hose in red below.
It can suck air without leaking fuel, just looking doesn't cut it.
This hose will need to eventually be replaced on every 12 valve.

Infadel,
Thanks for the advise Ihave already ordered this and will install. Even if its not the problem with 165,000 miles I am sure it will need to be replaced soon.
Thanks again for the advise.
