Leaking valve covers
Leaking valve covers
Hey everyone
Pulled the valve covers off and painted them a couple months ago and installed new gaskets the rubber ones and now I am having problems with them leaking! The cover bolts are bottomed out and tight! Any thoughts on why? could the covers be bent from being tightined to much?
Thanks
Eric

Sounds like to me that you have a bad gasket. If I were you, I would replace it and try a little black/ blue glue and see if that helps seal things up. I am new to this however, there are many people on here far more qualified than I am.
No they are not cummins gaskets but like I said I just replaced them they are not but 1k miles on them! I guess I will try to get some cummins gaskets for it unless some one else has a better idea?
