are the pumps indexed on the vacuum pump or can I just unbolt the pump and bolt another on?

they fit into a slot, it is easy to get it right. but you need to pull the vacume pump/ps pump at the same time. then pull off the ps pump. the ps pump will not slide out the back, you need the vacume pump pulled out a bit and tilted out to get the ps pump off.

 

take the whole unit (power steering and vacumn) off as one assembly.

then, separate the two.

 

never mind, I'll just keep my vacuum assist brakes
