I went to swap out my injection pump and found a number that is not listed for any dodge ram .
The # that is stock for my truck is 0 402 736 854
The # that was in the truck is 0 402 736 838
So the question is , does anyone know the original app. is for the number ?

838 = 160 pump
854 = 160/175 pump

 

Could you explain this , the different number seem to relate to the different HP levels , no 2 HP rated pumps have the same number .
I have a list of all the pump numbers put on dodge rams from 88 - about 05 , the 838 is not on the list .
If you could show your reference , that could clear things up ?

180hp - 885 - 911
175hp - 841 - 854 - 838
160hp - 841 - 854 - 838

 

Repeating it , is not a reference .
What I am looking at is one of several pages from Chatham Fuel Injection Service inc , I do not remember where or when I got this .
96-98? 180 HP AT 911
" " 180 HP Ca. only 912
" " 215 HP MT 913

95 160 HP AT 854
" 175 HP MT 841

94 160 HP AT 854
" 175 HP MT 841

Each number is HP & trans related .

 

Your numbers also lack the 885 and 887 pumps. All I've heard is 838 is a 160 pump.
