p7100 auto timing advance claims
Ebay ads not allowed on DTR
"It is a 12MM pump with an automatic timing advance to advance the timing as the fuel increases for increased hp and torque. The timing advance is built in to the plunger and allows the timing to be retarted at idle and start position and andvance as the fuel increases, so you get the increased hp of higher timing but the smoother idle and easy starting of stock timing."
anyone seen of these pumps and if so is it true or is this guy blowing smoke up everyones ****???

What they are talking about is a "913" 215hp pump which has helix cut plungers that varies timing slightly depending on rack position. here is a quote from a old thread that explains it better than I could.
On the 913 compared to the 160/180 pumps are the tops of the plungers different. On the 160 and 180 pumps the top of the plunger is flat. On the 913 there is a "valley" in the middle and "peaks" on each side. When the barrel rotates depending upon rack travel the spill port will be covered earlier by the peaks but will stay open longer when exposed to the valley. The spill port determines when the fueling begins and ends. So with a flat topped plunger this never varies - hence no change in timing, but the helix cut in the side of the plunger determines the amount of fueling. With the 913 pump it is slightly variable - hence a change in timing. Hard to explain in words but with pictures it's even muddier

215 pumps retard timing, this ad was talking about advancing the timing. The pump number doesn't match the typical P7100 auto gov. pump, so it could have something like an advance cut plunger. Or it might all be lies. The pump number on it was 0 402 746 665.

ill hafta brush up on forum rules....i didnt remember ebay ads arent allowed on the forum so.....apologies to the admin here, wont happen again. As far as i remembered these pumps were set stationary timing and ive never found a gear that will auto advance a 7100...told they dont exist and it wud be nigh unto build one because it takes too much HP to run a 7100. is there a site where we can decode the pump numbers??

The 215's use an upper helix to retard timing based on rack travel. No reason it can't be done in reverse. There is a timing device that uses flyweights to change timing based on RPM, but not sure what pumps they were fitted too. It is also listed in the Bosch inline pump books.
