Ok, so my brakes are absolutely pathetic right now...

I had my brakes doing what I thought was really good right before my rear end went out. Then when it went out I bought a used Dana 70. I just left the pads, and drums, and wheel cylinders and all in it and hooked up the brake lines. One of the bleeders broke off, so I could only bleed one side. Well ever since then, it hasnt stopped very good. The ABS, and Parking brake light stayed on at first, and they eventually went off for some unkown reason. My parking brake also is horrible right now(It will pull through it in Drive at an idle). Well, I changed the front pads a few weeks ago, and ever since then, sometimes when I push the pedal, my brakes feel pretty good, and the pedl starts working real close to the top. And sometimes it will go almost to the floor, and then start working, and then it only feels like one set of brakes are working? And sometimes when I pull up, and back into my parking spot when I come home, the ABS, and P Brake light will come on,a nd the pedal is all hard, and will barely stop you. I dont know. Just looking for ideas really. Im gonna swap all the brake stuff off of my old axle onto this new one, and then try that. I also have some noise coming from the front that sounds like some metal rubbing the rotor or something. Hopefully I can have a little luck with it tomorrow, but until then, Im looking for ideas. Thanks

Eric

The broken/unbled wheel cylinder is where I would start first, followed closely by a thorough inspection of the used shoes, drums, and other wheel cylinder. Having not properly bled the the system after the axle/brake swap, you are virtually guaranteed to have air in the system, which is probably the primary cause of most of your other problems.

Thats kind of what im thinking, and I also dont think the pads,a nd stuff are as good on this axle as my last, so im gonna just go ahead and swap everything over probably.

Just figured I would update. I put a new Brake Master Cylinder on it, and bled it all, but the rear brakes, and it is doing pretty good right now. I still plan on getting my rear brakes fixed too, and bleeding them. Should be good to go then.
