Oil leak behind injector pump

My truck has been leaking more oil than usual lately. There is a hose behind the injector pump causing the leak. What is this hose and where can I get one. Finally, is this something common or am I barking up the wrong tree. Thanks for the help!!!

Oil line to injection pump

Your oil leak is a oil line that supplys your injection pump with engien oil so it dont lock up . You need to replace that line . Your cummins dealer should have it in stock. If the line is broken you could be running your truck without oil going to the injection pump.

Good advice. The fittings may just be loose, but if you haven't ever touched it, then it would need replacement. Cummins would be the best bet.

Take the line to a hydraulic shop. Its just -4 JIC fittings. Take the old one with you, and they should be able to whip you up a new one. Much cheaper than Cummins, I'm willing to bet.

Thumbs up

Thanks to all for the helpful advice. I was finally able to clean the truck and pinpoint the oil leak. It was actually coming from the vacuum pump. I have learned more than I cared too about this part. Ended up getting the reseal kit from Cummins and luckily fixed it the first attempt.

Cummins sells a re-seal kit for that now? I've bought a few from Gould gear/electric but haven't touched one in several years. Really a bad design to have such a complicated/expensive part to create a vacuum source; wish I could just get the power steering pump to mate up to the engine and have an electric driven vac pump. Any sources for this unicorn? The gentleman at Gould gear is a very good source of info on the long term care of these trucks; he has several million miles under his belt and knows what lasts and what doesn't.
