how can i block the waste gate on my 97 12v will that give me more power? whatelse could i do to get more from this engine if anyone could show me pics it would be most helpful and i am looking for a set of gauges for it also egt,fuel pressure ,boost any help please.

 

You need fuel to make power. Blocking the wastegate on the turbo won't gain you anything if you're cleaning up the fuel you have.

I blocked the wastegate by disconnecting the line at the AFC housing and put in an 1/8" pipe plug in it's place.

 

Blocking the WG will be Ok with the stock turbo up on a 215 pump even if you move the stock plate full forward. You want to start to think about wastegate control over 35 psi where you can cause damage to the HX turbo. Most good plate kits come with this item in the bag, boost elbow that is.
